The catch is that only clumps of two or more can be removed, and doing so changes all adjacent blocks to the next colour in the sequence, making it easy to miss treasures (and you need most of them for the Mean S rank) just by leaving one annoying block or not thinking enough moves ahead to deal with colour changes properly. Treasure Hunter Monolith is a complex and wildly random puzzle mode where you need to uncover trinkets by removing groups of coloured blocks from the grid. The rest of the time comes from side modes and mini-games, and this one in particular is an absolute slog. (Secret) Danganronpa's obsession with mini-games got completely out of hand in the third game, where finishing the actual story in Spike Chunsoft's murderlicious visual novel accounts for just a fraction of Danganronpa V3's 100-120-hour completion estimate. With that out of the way, let's dive in! As much as we love a good challenges sometimes, achievements have certainly been known to take gatekeeping to the extreme every now and again. We've rounded up a selection of particularly heinous examples here, and for all kinds of reasons - some present unreasonable grinds, others rely way too heavily on luck, some would struggle to be more vanilla if they tried, while one or two are arguably just way too demanding for their own good. We're spoiled for choice when it comes to great games to play via Game Pass, but even some of the best games on Game Pass seemingly can't avoid testing us with some truly lousy achievements.
